When Stefan started Wasabi Group back in 2007, he wasn’t interested in being the biggest business in the industry.
He wanted to build a business that people genuinely enjoy working with.
That means recommending the right solution instead of the easiest sale. Turning up when we say we will. Communicating clearly. Treating every home and business with respect. And standing behind every job we complete.
We're also proud to support our local community, invest in training the next generation of apprentices and build a team that cares about doing a great job, because that's what people remember long after we've packed up our tools.
Meet the team
Stefan | Managing Director
Stef is the founder and Managing Director of Wasabi Group. A qualified refrigeration engineer with over 30 years in the industry, he built Wasabi on a simple belief: do quality work, look after people and your reputation will take care of itself. Today, Stef oversees the direction of the company and is focused on training the next generation of technicians coming through. Born and raised in Wellington's northern suburbs, it's where he still lives today with his family.
Tanisha | Operations Manager
Tanisha worked her way up from apprentice to management in the HVAC industry, so she understands the work from every angle. As Operations Manager, her focus is on the relationships that keep everything running smoothly - with our customers, our suppliers and our team.
Adam | Service Manager
Adam is our technical powerhouse. With a strong refrigeration background spanning some of the most demanding environments in the industry, from supermarket refrigeration to critical data centre equipment, Adam drives the technical expertise across our service team.

Commercial Team
With more than 35 years of combined industry experience, Johan and Tony both started out on the tools - and it shows. That hands-on background means practical advice and realistic solutions at every stage of a commercial project, from the first tender through to final sign-off.

Adrian | Client Manager
Adrian has been with Wasabi for more than 10 years and manages the scoping of our residential and light commercial projects, from the first quote through to completed installation.
Kieran | Client Manager
Kieran is our residential specialist, helping homeowners find the right solution for their property. With a keen eye for detail, he'll guide you through the process from start to finish.
Richard | Registered Electrician
Richard is a NZ registered electrician with two decades of experience in the trade. Specialising in residential work, from new builds and renovations through to switchboard upgrades and fault finding, he brings the same careful workmanship to every home he works in.
Lucia | Service Coordinator
Lucia coordinates our technicians' day-to-day jobs and is often the person you'll speak to when booking a service call or breakdown visit. She'll keep you informed every step of the way.
Kayla & Cass | Office Administration
Kayla (pictured) is usually the first friendly voice you'll hear when you call the office. Cass looks after our accounts and helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Our installation and service team works across residential and commercial projects throughout Wellington and the Wairarapa. We employ NZ qualified refrigeration engineers, electricians and apprentices because training the next generation isn't just important to Wasabi - it's important to the future of the industry.

Each Christmas, Nourish delivers around 2,000 hampers to Wellington families, and we're proud to play our part. Stef serves on the Trust's board, you'll spot the Nourish logo on the back of our vans, and every year members of the Wasabi team roll up their sleeves to help deliver hampers across the region.
